Here is a bee collecting nectar from a flower. This honeysuckle vine is not designed with bees in mind as its long tubular flower does not accommodate the fuzzy round body of the bumble bee. It has hummingbirds with their long narrow beaks, and butterflies, with their long un-coiling tongues in mind.
This bee, however is undeterred as I watch it nibble little holes near the base of the flower in order to taste the sweet nectar. Nature is truly marvellous as it bends design to accommodate what is needed.
